News - May 2003
Brinkman & Associates is proud to have supported Dirk Brinkman through the process of actively participating in the development of the National Forest Strategy.
After participating in the Vancouver Regional Workshop and the National Workshop in Winnipeg, Dirk continued his involvement through a number of conference calls and a session in Ottawa, in his role with NFS Writing Committee.
Dirk participated on behalf of the Canadian Silviculture Association. Dirk is the representative director of Western Silvicultural Contractors Association (WSCA) on the Canadian Silviculture Association (CSA).
This is the fourth national forest strategy development process in which Dirk has participated. In 1985 he joined the first national sectoral process in St. John's, New Brunswick. He has played a vital role on behalf of the silviculture industry at each stage of the evolving national forest strategy since then.
His participation over the past eighteen years has always been supported directly by Brinkman & Associates Reforestation. This is one of the company's many sponsored services in support of the silviculture industry, public forest policy development, the forest sector and the health of Canada's forest ecosystems.
The 2003-2008 NF Strategy is being rolled out on May 1st and 2nd in Ottawa at the National Forest Congress.
