FSC

Our company bases its operations on the principles and criteria established by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which describe the way in which plantations must be managed, including the social, economic, ecological and cultural elements that need to be well maintained for future generations.   The principles include strict standards and policies that encourage certified companies to generate a positive impact on the environment and surrounding communities. BARCA can incorporate other independent companies, cooperatives or individual forestry projects under its Group Management. We also provide consulting services to companies that want to certify their plantation establishment and management activities, genetic improvement, implementation of chain of custody services and forestry. 

Cooperation

We have developed a genetic improvement program with GENFORES, an organization that strives to improve the quality of trees being planted, under continuous supervision by the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR).
